Intevation Food recalls frozen chicken fettuccine alfredo products in US

Intevation Food, a US-based frozen food manufacturer, has recalled around 156,924lbs of frozen chicken fettuccine alfredo products due to misbranding and the presence of egg, which was not mentioned on the label.

The recalled products are 18oz trays of ‘OMAHA STEAKS, 2367 Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo’, featuring the establishment number ‘P-39949’ inside the USDA mark of inspection as well as the case codes 9502367 or 9802367.

Packaged and produced on various dates from 11 May 2012 through 8 October 2013, the products were shipped to distributors in Nebraska for further distribution through retail and internet sales.

According to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the company noticed the problem during an internal label review.

There have been no reported illnesses to date due to the consumption of these products, and consumers concerned about an illness have been advised to contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS regularly conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.

Classified as class I, the recall indicates a situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
