Döhler completes acquisition of 50% stake in Brazilian fruit specialist Mais Fruta

Germany-based Döhler has completed the acquisition of a 50% stake in Mais Fruta, a Brazil-based family-owned fruit specialist, for an undisclosed amount.

Located in the city of Antonio Prado, southern Brazil, Mais Fruta is engaged in the manufacture and distribution of frozen fruits, fruit purees and juice concentrates for the food and beverage industry.

The company offers frozen purees and fruit juice compounds, fruit preparations in small packages, and ingredient systems for the ice cream industry, and sells its frozen fruits under the ‘Nono Silvestre’ brand.

The acquisition comes after Döhler’s purchase of Polish flavours specialist Aromes earlier this week, to strengthen its presence in the Eastern European flavours market and expand its business activities in the food segment.

The latest deal provides Döhler with access to raw materials from a wide range of South American fruit varieties and allows it to develop innovative food and beverage applications.

It also strengthens Döhler’s position as a supplier of natural food and beverage ingredients in South America.

Döhler stated that the products of the two parties complement each other, supporting its growth strategy in South America.

Mais Fruta will continue to operate its business activities as before.

Darmstadt-headquartered Döhler operates 23 production sites, 48 sales offices and application centres, and has sales activities in more than 130 countries.

The company’s product portfolio includes flavours, colours, speciality and performance ingredients, cereal ingredients, dairy ingredients, fruit and vegetable ingredients and ingredient systems.
