ACS lands B747-8 airliner in Germany to transport dealcoholisation equipment

Air Charter Service (ACS), a global aircraft charter provider, has recently landed the first Boeing 747-8 freighter at Hahn Airport in Frankfurt, Germany, for the transport of dealcoholisation equipment to São Paulo, Brazil.

The apparatus will be used to lower the concentration of alcohol in Brazilian beer during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

ACS Germany managing director Stephan Blank said, "As well as being exceptional cargo, the charter itself was special. This was the first visit to Frankfurt Hahn Airport for the B747-8F and was only possible after we obtained special permissions.

"It was welcomed by a ‘water cannon salute’ put on by the airport fire department."

Blank added: "FIFA has decided, as of 2014, to ban alcoholic beverage consumption within the stadia of World Cup matches.

"In Brazil, non-alcoholic beers are simply not produced, so they are having to dealcoholise the beer that they do have and that is the job of this apparatus."

Managed by Agility Logistics, the cargo weighed 35t and was transported in 24 pieces in wooden boxes, and mounted on transport carriages.

A team of ACS associates were present at the airport to ensure that the cargo was loaded properly and the aircraft was able to take off on time on its way to Viracopos-Campinas International Airport in São Paulo.

Established in 1990, ACS operates 16 offices across five continents, offering private jet, commercial airliner and cargo aircraft charters.

The company organises 6,500 charters per year, employs over 280 staff, and it has revenues of more than $400m.
