GEA Secures Milk Processing Plant Contract

GEA Process Engineering, a unit of GEA Group, has secured a €20m contract to build a milk processing plant for Miraka in New Zealand.

The facility, near Taupo, will have the capacity to process in excess of one million litres of milk a day.

The plant will have a full processing line, including a milk reception area, standardising, an evaporator, a spray drying facility and powder storage bins.

The company will also construct a building that will house the processing line.

The plant is expected to be ready for operation by August 2011.
