Mead Johnson Extends Supply Agreement

Mead Johnson Nutrition has extended its supply agreement with Martek Biosciences Corporation for docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (ARA) for use in its infant formula products.

Under the agreement, Martek will be Mead Johnson’s sole supplier of DHA and ARA through 31 December 2015, an extension of four years.

Martek has been supplying DHA and ARA to Mead Johnson under a 25-year global licence agreement executed in 1992.

DHA and ARA, which are naturally present in human breast milk, are fatty acids important to infant development and growth.
