Saputo Q4 Net Up

Saputo has reported a 37% increase in net earnings of $382.7m or $1.85 a share, compared to $278.9m or $1.35 a share a year earlier.

The Canadian dairy processor’s consolidated revenues were $5.8bn, an increase of $17.3m, or 0.3%, compared to $5.8bn posted in 2009.

The company’s earnings before interest, income taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were $692.1m, an increase of $144.3m or 26.3% compared to $547.8m in 2009.

Saputo’s EBITDA in the Canada, Europe and Argentina dairy products sector was $457.9m, compared to $378.9m in 2009.

The firm’s EBITDA of the US dairy products sector amounted to $218.4m, an increase of $66.4m or 43.7% in comparison to $152m reported last year.
