Viterra to Acquire 21st Century Grain Processing

Canadian agribusiness Viterra has signed an agreement to acquire US-based 21st Century Grain Processing for $90.5m.

Viterra senior vice-president Karl Gerrand said the acquisition will help the company expand its market share and better serve its customers.

“An important benefit of this combination will be our ability to deepen our relationships with customers and more effectively deliver innovative customised ingredients to them,” Gerrand said.

21st Century Grain Processing operates an oat mill in South Sioux City, Nebraska, and a wheat milling facility near Amarillo, Texas.

The Nebraska facility can process up to 295t of commercial oat products a day while the Texas facility can process up to 225t of flour a day.
