Products Recalled Over Botulism Contamination

Amish Wedding Foods is recalling its 9, 16 and 18oz lots of pumpkin butter, and its 16 and 18oz lots of sweet potato butter due to possible botulism contamination.

The Ohio-based food company’s products were sold around the US under a variety of brand names.

Botulism is a form of food poisoning caused by eating contaminated food containing clostridium botulinum bacteria.

The bacteria produce a powerful poison that is absorbed from the digestive tract and spreads throughout the central nervous system.
