J & J Snack Foods Posts Q2 Profit

J & J Snack Foods Corporation said its second quarter net earnings increased 24% to $9m, up from $7.2m a year ago.

In the quarter ending 27 March the company’s sales increased 5% to $157.4m, up from $149.4m in 2009.

Operating income increased 25% to $14.9m, up from $11.9m on a year-on-year basis, it said.

The company’s sales increased 5% to $306.5m from $290.5m in last year’s first half.

Net earnings increased 39% to $16.1m while operating income rose 41% to $26.3m, up from $18.7m a year ago.
