Want Want China Reports Annual Profit Increase

Want Want China has reported a 2009 net income of $312.6m, or 2.37 cents a share, compared to $262.7m, or 2 cents a share, in 2008.

The company also posted a 19% increase in yearly profit.

Want Want’s revenue from dairy products and beverages rose 48.9% from a year earlier due to a recovery in the milk products market and sales of pocket-sized drinks, according to Bloomberg.

Annual sales rose 10% to $1.71bn.

Want Want China is the largest maker of rice cakes and flavoured milk in China.
