Coca-Cola Amatil Q2 Profit Rises

Coca-Cola Amatil has reported a Q2 profit rise of 21% on domestic beverage sales and higher earnings from Indonesia.

The Australian soft-drink maker’s net income rose to A$259m ($234m) in the six months ended 31 December from A$214m ($193m) a year ago.

The company’s annual profit rose 16% to A$449m ($404m), the Sydney-based company said.

The firm’s Q2 earnings before interest and tax in Australia, where Coca-Cola Amatil gets nearly two-thirds of sales, rose 9% to A$301.5m ($271m).

Indonesia and Papua New Guinea increased profit 16% to A$46.8m ($42m), it said.

The food unit, which includes Australia’s biggest fruit canner SPC Ardmona, posted a 26% increase in earnings to A$53.1m ($47m).
