A higher number of female consumers were unsure about what the term 'clean label' means across all ages compared to men. 

The biggest gap was in the 55-64 years age range. Nearly half the women in this bracket said they did not understand what the term meant, compared to only 24% of male consumers in the same age range. This illustrates a gap in the market for products to convey their benefits more clearly, especially those specifically targeting women.
