TruFood Manufacturing acquires Simply Natural Foods

AOG, doing business as (dba) TruFood Manufacturing, has expanded its presence in the nutrition bar and chocolate moulded snacking segments with the acquisition of Simply Natural Foods (SNF).

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed by either company.

Supported by AUA Private Equity Partners, TruFood is a contract manufacturer of snack food products such as nutrition bars, protein bars, chocolate moulded products and baked goods.

According to the agreement, SNF will operate as TruFood going forward and will be led by TruFood president Ted Schouten and CEO Pete Tsudis.

Tsudis said: “The combination of TruFood and Simply Natural Foods allows us to leverage the success Simply Natural Foods has established in the better-for-you snacking segment and enables us to serve a larger customer base with a broader range of product offerings.

“We are thrilled about the meaningful value-added opportunities that this acquisition will provide for our employees, customers and other strategic partners.”

Headquartered in Commack, New York, SNF was established in 1992 and produces nutrition bars and confections for food brands.

Under the deal, the existing SNF president and CEO Abe Brach will exit the company in the coming weeks to pursue other business endeavours.
