Stonewall completes Tillen Farms acquisition in US

US-based food manufacturer Stonewall Kitchen (Stonewall) has completed the acquisition of Tillen Farms brand for an undisclosed amount.

Tillen Farms offers cocktail garnishes, including uniquely crisp pickled vegetables and delicious Pacific Northwest cherries.

The company claims that its cherries and vegetables are kosher and non-GMO-certified, while they are free from gluten and peanut content.

Tillen Farms founder Tim Metzger said: “Joining the Stonewall Kitchen family is the perfect fit for us.

“They have long been known for their strengths in product development and brand building, and we’ve already started working together on several new products set to launch later this year.

“I look forward to working with the Stonewall Kitchen team to bring Tillen Farms to the next level and to realise our growth potential.”

Headquartered in York, Maine, Stonewall Kitchen is a speciality food producer that offers a wide range of products, including jams, jellies, sauces, condiments, dressings, and baking mixes.

Stonewall Kitchen chief executive officer John Stiker said: “We could not be more excited to combine these two premium speciality food brands.

“Tillen Farms is a strong and well-recognised brand, and a leader in the pickled vegetable and cocktail cherry categories, with delicious offerings like pickled asparagus, spicy dilly beans, and their signature Bada Bing cherries.”

The acquisition of Tillen Farms is reported to be in line with Stonewall’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the North American speciality foods segment.

Stonewall noted that it intends to further improve its position in the market through additional selective acquisitions.
