PPC Partners acquires US label producer C H Guenther

US private equity firm PPC Partners has acquired Texas-based private label food producer C H Guenther & Son (CHG) for an undisclosed price.

PPC reportedly led the acquisition along with co-investors and managers who will continue to lead the company.

PPC chairman and CEO Tony Pritzker said: “CHG is a clear market leader with an outstanding management team.

“Combining our flexible capital base and industry knowledge with this management team will enable the company to generate new opportunities for growth while continuing the family legacy.”

Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, CHG is a family owned company that has been engaged in the production and marketing of a wide-range of grain-based and seasoning products, including artisan breads, buns, rolls, biscuits, gravy mixes, frozen appetisers, spices, and desserts.

Employing 2,500 workers, CHG operates food manufacturing facilities in the US, Canada and Western Europe.

CHG will continue to maintain and operate from its headquarters and technical service centre.
