Pipeline Foods to acquire Organic Ventures’ business

US-based supply chain solutions company Pipeline Foods has signed an agreement to acquire Organic Ventures’ ancient grains and speciality products business.

Pipeline Foods noted that the deal will add ancient grains to its offerings and complements its product portfolio in the Americas.

Furthermore, the acquisition will enable the company to increase its focus on organic corn products.

Pipeline Foods founder and board chairman Eric Jackson said: “We laid out an ambitious goal when we entered the market in 2017 to dramatically increase the amount of organic and non-GMO grain grown in the US.

“This is a critical next step in our company’s growth. It will add new capabilities and products to the existing Pipeline Foods portfolio, a benefit to both our farmers and food company customers.”

Additionally, the company plans to extend all its services, including grain merchandising, Farm Profit and Ag Impact programmes to its grower and customer base.

Going forward, Pipeline Foods intends to originate all grain and ingredients for the Organic Ventures line of business and its subsidiary, Great River Organic Milling to enhance their operational efficiencies.

All retail-marketed and wheat flour products of Organic Ventures will remain with Great River Organic Milling.

As part of the deal, Organic Ventures president Rick Halverson will join Pipeline Foods as a business unit manager.

For Organic Ventures, the deal was led by business and financial advisory firm Ascendant Partners.
