Peak Rock affiliate acquires bars and snacks manufacturer Halo Foods

US-based private equity firm Peak Rock Capital’s affiliate has completed the acquisition of healthy bars and snacks manufacturer Halo Foods, headquartered in Newport, Wales, UK.

Halo is engaged in the production of cereal bars, fruit and nut bars, gluten-free, high protein and nutritionally controlled bars.

Focused on the better-for-you segment, Halo has a customer base that includes national retailers and established international brands.

Halo Foods CEO John Tague said: “The management team of Halo has worked tirelessly to build the Company into an industry-leading provider, serving retailers and brands.

“We believe our partnership with Peak Rock will help Halo to accelerate its strong growth trajectory by drawing on their extensive experience in food and beverage and by continuing to invest in our people and capabilities.”

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed by both the companies.

The acquisition of Halo Foods is reported to be Peak Rock’s 11th investment in the food and beverage industry in recent years.

Peak Rock Capital CEO Anthony DiSimone said: “This transaction is another example of Peak Rock’s deep experience in the food and beverage segment.

“We will continue to seek additional platform investments within the industry across Europe and North America, as well as add-on acquisitions that we believe could benefit from our ability to drive rapid growth and improve performance.”

Last May, Peak Rock Capital’s affiliate has completed the acquisition of ice cream manufacturer and distributor Turkey Hill Dairy from Kroger for $215m.

In March 2019, Peak Rock entered a definitive agreement to acquire Turkey Hill Dairy business from Kroger.
