Provisur acquires assets of AMFE and BFD

US-based manufacturer of food processing equipment Provisur Technologies has acquired certain assets of Netherlands-based AMFE and Colorado-based BFD Corporation.

Financial details of the transactions have not been revealed by the companies.

Provisur CEO Mel Cohen said: "These important acquisitions are consistent with Provisur's long-range strategic plan and will help fuel our company's continued global growth."

AMFE manufactures advanced press-type separation equipment, which is used in beef and pork applications. Its Bone Cannon product is a press separation system used by processors to recover quality meat remaining on beef and pork bones after secondary processing.

BFD offers sales, application expertise, installation and aftermarket support for AMFE equipment in North America.

Founder and former owner of BFD John Shook will remain directly involved not only in the North American market, but also in expanding distribution of the Bone Cannon in global markets.

Kerdiles said: "These acquisitions expand Provisur's lineup of separation equipment, which includes Beehive and AM2C rotary separators.

"The Bone Cannon is an important addition to our separation portfolio as it extends our capabilities beyond poultry and fish to beef and pork applications.”

Upon completion of the transaction, Provisur intends to combine the activities of BFD and AMFE into its existing separation business unit led by its vice-president, Olivier Kerdiles.
