MHP to acquire meat processing plant in Germany

Ukrainian poultry producer MHP is planning to acquire a meat processing plant in Germany in order to enter the EU market.

MHP investor relations department head Anastasia Sobotyuk said the company is seeking a way to enter the appealing market of the EU and is ready to invest about €100-150m ($135.57-203.36m) in the project.

The company plans to supply raw materials to the EU complex from its Ukrainian enterprise, and is currently in the process of obtaining permits for exporting poultry meat to the EU market.

The company is also planning to make an acquisition in other European countries such as Italy, Slovakia and France.

MHP is a leading producer of chickens in Ukraine with a 36% market share, and also produces sunflower oil, beef and other arable and livestock products.
