M&As this week: The Hershey Company, Ambev SA, Jollibee Foods Corporation, Bunge Deutschland

The Hershey Company has purchased Ripple Brand Collective to add to its chocolate portfolio and enhance its premium offerings.

Hersheys will acquire the hugely popular barkTHINS snacking chocolate brand as part of the acquisition and intends to build on its success.

Do Bem (Do Bem Bebidas), a juice maker established by Marcos Leta, has been acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev’s Ambev SA.

A beer and soda producer, Ambev hopes to expand its non-alcoholic division through the acquisition.

Do Bem caters to customers in Brazil, Paraguay, Colombia, France, Portugal and Spain by offering juices, packaged teas and cereal bars.

Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) has acquired full ownership of barbeque fast food chain operator Mang Inasal Philippines Inc. (MIPI).

An operator of a multinational chain of fast food restaurants, JFC has bought the remaining 30% stake in a PHP2bn ($43m) transaction.

The shares were acquired at PHP533.33 ($11.46) a share.

Bunge Deutschland, a subsidiary of Bunge, has announced a majority stake purchase of a 62.8% interest in Walter Rau Neusser Oll und Fett (WRAG) from Peter Cremer Holding (Cremer Group).

The deal is expected to be completed later this year.

WRAG is a producer of edible oils, while Bunge Deutschland is a leading agribusiness and food company that hopes to expand its portfolio through the transaction.
