M&As this week: Nutrano, Rhodes Food Group

Nutrano has completed the acquisition of Seven Fields and Abbotsleigh Group for undisclosed considerations.

Nutrano is one of the leading fresh produce distribution companies in Australasia.

The company intends to retain all staff, existing brands, and domestic and export customer base of Seven Fields and Abbotsleigh Group.

South African company Rhodes Food Group has announced that it will acquire Ma Baker, a company based in KwaZulu-Natal.

Rhodes Food Group aims to strengthen its presence in the growing pie and pastry market in the country through the acquisition, which is estimated to cost R212m ($15.7m).

Ma Baker has pies, pastries and snacks manufacturing facilities in Pinetown and Pietermaritzburg.
