JW Nutritional opens new protein powder manufacturing facility in Texas

US-based dietary supplement producer JW Nutritional has opened a new protein powder manufacturing facility in Plano, Texas.

The facility will begin production later this month.

In adition to function foods and pet nutrition, JW Nutritional also offers product development with formula research and development, ingredient-sourcing, packaging, label design, and fulfillment.

JW Nutritional president and founder Jesse Windrix said: "We’re now able to bring our customers the same service with their protein products that they were already receiving from us out of our capsule and tablet facility."

The firm is led by Windrix, along with vice-president Nathan Hewitt, chief engineer Joshua Smith and quality director Dragos Alevizache.

The company recently secured Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification from NSF, a third-party certifying body in the nutritional industry.

Alevizache said: "Obtaining our NSF certificate shows our continued push for quality and affirms, beyond any doubt, that our products are fully compliant with all regulatory requirements..

"We operate our facility as if we are in a glass building, open for anyone to look in and see just how their products are being made."
