Deals this week: Unilever Capital Corporation, Procter & Gamble, Helios Investment Partners

Unilever N.V’s debt-issuing vehicle Unilever Capital Corporation has announced the pricing of its $1bn 2.900% senior notes, which are guaranteed by Unilever PLC, Unilever PLC and Unilever United States, and are due in 2027.

The notes carry a coupon rate of 2.9% a year, which is payable semi-annually on 5 May and 5 November starting from this year, and will mature in 2027.

Unilever has simultaneously announced the pricing for three separate offerings, including 1.8% notes due 2020 to raise $800m, 2.2% notes due 2022 to raise $850m, and 2.6% notes due 2024 to raise $500m.

Book-runners for the offerings include Deutsche Bank Securities, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Morgan Stanley.

US-based consumer goods company Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced plans to raise $482.99m (£375m) through a public offering of notes due 2025.

The bonds carry a coupon rate of 1.375% a year, payable annually on 3 May and will mature on 3 May 2025.

Sold at a price of 99.858% of principal amount, the bonds were issued with a yield to maturity value of 1.394%.

The offering is supported by book-runners Barclays Bank, J.P. Morgan Securities and Merrill Lynch International, along with a group of underwriters.

South Africa-based Helios Investment Partners and Spanish company THE GB FOODS have announced the formation of a joint venture (JV) named GBfoods Africa, which will involve in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) business.

The new JV has already acquired leading brands such as Jumbo, Gino and Pomo, and Jago, as well as Bama (mayonnaise) distribution rights for Africa.

Helios Investment Partners is a private investment firm, whereas THE GB FOODS is a manufacturer of meal solutions.

Zhejiang Weiyang Technology has announced that it raised $23m in a Series A funding round.

Led by Meituan-Dianping, Sinovation Ventures and JD.com, the round also included the participation of Fengyun Capital and Zhejiang Silicon Paradise Asset Management Group.

Zhejiang Weiyang is a Chinese pig farm business engaged in swine raising business.

F.F.I. Holdings has agreed to acquire Orchard Manufacturing’s Orchard Icing business for approximately A$0.85m ($0.63m). Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in Australia.

F.F.I. is engaged in the production of confectionery products, cake decorations, jams and fruit fillings, as well as bacon and processed meat products. Orchard Manufacturing specialises in the production of confectionaries such as candy and rolled ice cake decoration products.

F.F.I. proposes to restructure and merge Orchard Icing with its cake decorations division, Nemar Cake Toppings, upon successful completion of the transaction.
