Deals this week: Olymel, B.T.T.R Ventures, The Hain Celestial Group

The assets of La Fernandiere will be acquired by Canadian meat processing company Olymel in a deal, following which the former will continue to operate as an independent company.

La Fernandiere is a food company that produces and sells sausages under the La Fernandiere brand. The company will continue its operations under the same brand name and retain its sales team, according to the terms of the deal.

B.T.T.R Ventures (Back to The Roots) has raised an investment through Series A funding to finance its product development and growth plans.

A manufacturer of ready-to-grow and ready-to-eat products, the company has secured $10m through the funding round.

US-based venture capital firm Acre Venture Partners led the funding round, which also saw the participation of S2G Ventures and Red Sea Ventures.

American food company The Hain Celestial Group will sell its freshly squeezed fruit juice business based in Kent, UK.

The fruit juice business is Hain’s own-label and part of the company’s wide range of products that include infant formula, infant, toddler, diapers and wipes, rice and grain products, flour and baking mixes.

Glanbia Co-operative Society has completed a private placement of exchangeable bonds with a five-year maturity.

The Irish dairy products manufacturer has secured a €100m ($111.50m) investment through the offering of bonds that are linked to a pledge of approximately 4.3 million shares of Glanbia.

Leroy Seafood Group has issued 5.3 million shares in a private placement to raise funds for financing its acquisitions of Havfisk and Norway Seafoods Group.

The company has raised Nkr2.2bn ($263.63m) by offering the shares at a price of Nkr415 ($49.72) a share. Of the total issued shares, five million are new shares, while 300,000 are part of the company’s treasury shares.
