Deals this week: NH Foods, Biostime International Holdings

Japan’s meat processing and packing company NH Foods has formed a joint venture with Hokkaido Milk Products, in order to produce yogurt.

In addition, NH Foods will also acquire a 20% stake in Hokkaido Milk Products through private placement.

Biostime International Holdings will issue senior notes with a five-year maturity and an interest rate of 7.25% a year in a public offering to secure funds.

The Chinese provider of infant formulas, probiotics and nutritional supplements plans to raise $400m through the offering. The net proceeds from the transaction will be used for the repayment of convertible bonds.
