Clearlake Capital purchases North American snack manufacturer That’s How We Roll

Private investment firm Clearlake Capital has completed the acquisition of US snack manufacturer That’s How We Roll (THWR).

The buy-out is a part of Clearlake Capital’s recently announced Better For You Holdings platform.

Financial terms of the deal have not been divulged.

Founded by Aldo Zuppichini, THWR owns snack brands such as Mrs. Thinsters and Dippin’ Chips.

Following the acquisition, THWR will continue to be led by Zuppichini and its team will comprise senior vice-president of marketing and operations Sam Kestenbaum, as well as vice-president of sales Amy Kiley. It will also remain based in Fairfield, New Jersey.

Zuppichini said: "Clearlake’s partnership will allow us to extend our resources for product innovation, accelerate nationwide distribution, and provide consumers with more premium healthy snack options without sacrificing taste.

"Our team looks forward to continued growth."

Available at 10,000 locations across North America, the snack options offered by THWR are certified non-GMO and MSG-free.

In a joint statement, Clearlake co-founders and managing partners Jose Feliciano and Behdad Eghbali said: "With better for you snacks that include options such as non-GMO and gluten free in a variety of delicious flavours, we believe Dippin’ Chips and Mrs. Thinsters are well-positioned to attract consumers looking to make healthier lifestyle choices."
