Aseptia completes sale of two of its manufacturing operations

US food technology company Aseptia has sold its Carolina Dairy and Wright Foods manufacturing operations to a newly formed subsidiary of AmeriQual.

Finalised last month, the sale of the two manufacturing facilities in North Carolina will enable Aseptia to focus on expanding its technologies worldwide.

With the completion of the sale, the assets of Wright Foods and Carolina Dairy have been transferred to the subsidiary of AmeriQual.

The companies have also formed a long-term licensing relationship to enable them to use Aseptia’s patented AseptiWave and AseptiSense technologies.

Aseptia president and CEO David Clark was quoted by The Courier Tribune as saying: "By combining Aseptia’s proprietary food technologies with AmeriQual’s market-leading process expertise, we believe that innovative and transformative aseptic products will be brought to market in the very near term."

AmeriQual Group president Joe Penshorn added: "By expanding our manufacturing capabilities and employing Aseptia’s aseptic preservation technologies, we will be able to bring unique, better products to our customers.

"Acquiring the Carolina Dairy facility is also a very logical extension of our pouch manufacturing expertise into the yogurt category."

Carolina Dairy opened in 2014 as a yogurt processing plant, while Wright Foods is an aseptic food processing company started in 2013.
