Nestlé expands Crunch portfolio in US

Swiss food giant Nestlé has expanded its chocolate brand Crunch by adding new products to its portfolio that will be sold in the US.

Featuring 100% real dark chocolate and crisped rice, the Nestlé Crunch Dark will be available in a 1.5oz single bar for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1.09.

On the other hand, Nestlé Buncha Crunch Dark will be available in a re-sealable, stand-up pouch, as well as in a snackable concession box.

The 8oz re-sealable stand-up pouch will be retailed in the market for an MSRP of $3.79, while the 3.2oz snackable concession box will be available for an MSRP of $1.06.

Nestlé Crunch marketing associate Kira Gainesn said: “With dark chocolate seeing a 10% three-year compound annual growth rate from 2013 to 2015, we know that consumers want to see more options when choosing their favourite candy.

“We developed Nestlé Crunch Dark and Buncha Crunch Dark to fill that need and have seen the outstanding reaction from fans and digital influencers who have been some of the first to try it.”

The company explained that all its Nestlé Crunch dark products are free of artificial flavours or colours, and will be available at retailers across the US.

For the launch, Nestlé Crunch collaborated with Candytopia, which is offering samples of its dark chocolate products until 4 July.

Candytopia chief executive officer John Goodman said: “Bringing Nestlé Crunch Dark to Candytopia is a great way to bring a full sensory experience to our guests.

“Not only will they be seeing their favourite candies presented in ways they’ve never imagined but they’ll get the chance to taste a remix of one of the most classic bars out there, Nestlé Crunch.”
