Nestlé collaborates with Nuritas to discover food-derived bioactive peptides

Global food company Nestlé has collaborated with Ireland’s biotechnology firm Nuritas with an objective to discover bioactive peptide networks within specific target areas of significant value.

As part of the new collaboration, Nuritas will be deploying its technology platform that makes use of artificial intelligence (AI) and DNA analysis to predict and validate efficacious peptides from the natural food sources.

Nuritas founder and chief scientific officer Nora Khaldi said:  “At Nuritas, our mission is to positively impact billions of lives worldwide and we, therefore, are delighted to be collaborating with Nestlé, the world’s largest food and beverage company on such an important project.

“We are really looking forward to beginning this impactful journey together.”

Nestlé also intends to use its scientific know-how and applications expertise to validate the efficacy of these new discoveries within the target applications.
