ARRO food processing and ingredients acquired by Mount Franklin

US-based Mount Franklin Foods has acquired ARRO Corporation’s food processing and ingredients divisions through its affiliate.

Neither company has divulged any financial details.

Headquartered in El Paso, Texas, Mount Franklin Foods’ products include gummies, jellies, mints, fruit snacks, and nut and snack mixes.

Mount Franklin Foods owner and board chairman Eloy Vallina said: “We are excited to bring Mount Franklin Foods’ demonstrated leadership and proven ability to grow and develop products and brands to an even broader segment of the foodservice industry.

“By adding the synergistic Element Food Solutions into the Mount Franklin portfolio, we will not only enhance our offerings but will be able to assist more customers in more categories and help them turn manufacturing challenges into successes.”

Based in Hodgkins, Illinois, ARRO’s food processing division develops products for the bake mix, powdered beverage, ingredient and cereal / trail mix / nut sectors. It also offers packaging solutions for the same industries.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, ARRO’s ingredients division blends bulk ingredients and facilitates their transfer. It offers large format handling and storage solutions for food and food ingredient companies.

Named Element Food Solutions, the company formed by the acquisition will function as an independent business entity under the Mount Franklin Foods parent organisation. It will operate out of the former ARRO locations in Hodgkins and Chicago.

Mount Franklin Foods president and CEO Enrique Grajeda said: “This acquisition and formation of Element Food Solutions supports our strategic growth strategy.
