M&As this week: Peppermint Jim, Scandi Standard, CJ Cheiljedang

Liberated Solutions has entered an agreement to acquire a 51% stake in Peppermint Jim for $0.25m.

Liberated Solutions is a diversified green energy services holding firm, while Peppermint Jim is engaged in the production and distribution of fine mint and mint products.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.

Scandi Standard, through its subsidiary Danpo, has entered an agreement to acquire a 51% stake in Rokkedahl Foods for an undisclosed amount.

Based in Ireland, Scandi Standard is a producer and distributor of chicken food products, including ready-to-eat, chilled and frozen products. It is also involved in the production and sale of eggs in Norway.

The Rokkedahl family also operates Rokkedahl Landbrug, which supplies live birds to Rokkedahl Foods and other businesses.

Danpo will have the option to acquire the Rokkedahl family’s 49% stake in Rokkedahl Foods in 2023, under the agreement.

CJ Cheiljedang Corp intends to acquire Mainfrost Tiefkuhlkost for an undisclosed sum.

CJ Cheiljedang is a South Korean food products manufacturer, while Mainfrost is a frozen foods producer based in Germany.

CJ Cheiljedang has also announced its plans to acquire US-based Kahiki Foods.

Indiana Packers (IPC) has inked an agreement to acquire a 100% stake in Specialty Foods Group (SFG) for an undisclosed sum.

A consolidated subsidiary of Mitsubishi, IPC is a premier pork company, while SGF is a manufacturer and distributor of processed meat products, including ham and sausages.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.

The acquisition will enable IPC to streamline the integration of functions in its production chains and expand its product range, as well as processed meats business.

Mitsubishi intends to enhance its fresh food business and accelerate its growth through the production, procurement and sales network for fine animal protein products.
