M&As this week: Bunge North America, M • LYNX Co Ltd

Food and feed ingredients producer and distributor Bunge North America has acquired Minsa Corporation, a corn flour manufacturing plant owner, operator and producer, from Grupo Minsa.

Bunge North America is a subsidiary of Bunge Limited, an integrated agribusiness and food company based in the US, while Grupo Minsa is a Mexican producer of corn products.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Bunge North America’s food and ingredients business, while also providing the company with additional growth opportunities in other regions.

Asset management firm M • LYNX Co Ltd has acquired 18.8% stake in food product manufacturing company Pietro Co Ltd.

The transaction represents the acquisition of approximately 1.17 million shares of Pietro.

Both the companies involved in the acquisition are based in Japan.

Financial services, merchant services aggregator, and mobile payment company Square Inc has acquired restaurant delivery platform Entrees On-Trays.

The acquisition will enable Square to increase the coverage areas of its on-demand food delivery services, Caviar, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Texas, US.

Both the companies involved in the acquisition are based in the US.
