IF&P Foods acquires US company Cibus Fresh

US-based private equity firm Rotunda Capital Partners’ portfolio company IF&P Foods has acquired US-based food service company Cibus Fresh.

The companies have not disclosed the financial details of the deal.

Cibus Fresh focuses on made-to-order packaged convenience foods.

With the acquisition, IF&P intends to expand its convenient grab-and-go offerings to include chef-curated sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads, salads, snack packs, and parfaits cups.

The purchase will also provide an 11,000ft² kitchen facility.

The FDA and USDA inspected kitchen facility is certified with the Federal Grant of Inspection to ensure optimum food safety and regulation.

IF&P Foods is the result of a merger of two produce distribution companies, Indianapolis Fruit and Piazza Produce, that took place in 1997.

The two companies are said to have a combined experience of 118 years serving the grocery and food service industries.

Garden Cut, Circle City Produce, and Papania Produce complete the IF&P group of companies.

Rotunda acquired IF&P Foods in August last year, following which the growth trajectory of the produce distributor accelerated in the Midwest.

IF&P provides fresh and packaged produce varieties, in addition to partially prepared meal components, to roughly 7,500 customers throughout the Midwest, including grocery stores and food management companies.

IF&P Foods currently offers its fruit, vegetables and dairy products to more than 14 states in the Midwest and beyond in the US from its five facilities totalling more than 225,000ft² of warehouse space.
