Goodship joins Privateer Holdings in US

US-based cannabis-infused chocolate maker The Goodship (Goodship) has joined the brand portfolio of Washington’s private equity firm Privateer Holdings.

Both Goodship and Privateer Holdings will focus on the development of new products and expand their market presence across North America.

Established in 2014 by Jody Hall, The Goodship makes delectable cookies, brownies, confections, and sweets.

Hall said: “I founded Goodship to celebrate the ways that cannabis can promote creativity and help bring people together.

“As a part of the Privateer Holdings family of brands, we now have the resources, capital and expertise to create new confections, test innovative flavours, host even more exciting events and bring our products to adult consumers in new markets.”

Goodship claims that its products are produced using all-natural, sustainable, and locally sourced ingredients with organic and fair-trade chocolate.

Privateer Holdings is reported to be the world’s first private equity firm to invest exclusively in legal cannabis.
