DMK Group to completely acquire DV Nutrition’s assets

German dairy cooperative DMK Group is set to acquire all the assets of DV Nutrition, a joint venture (JV) between DOC Kaas and Volac.

The move comes as DMK and Volac announced that they would end their joint participation in DV Nutrition.

The JV company was established in 2004. Since then, it has been producing whey protein and lactose-based ingredients.

As part of the JV, Volac was responsible for sales and marketing of DV Nutrition products.

The company has agreed to continue the distribution of protein products from the DV Nutrition factory for a certain time period.

Going forward, DMK will supply the products manufactured by DV Nutrition to the customers directly.

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. Completion of the transaction is subject to obtaining relevant approvals.

By 1 January, subject to competition clearance, DMK expects to acquire a 100% stake in the JV firm.

DMK announced that it will continue its operations from the existing site in Hoogeveen, the Netherlands.

The move to end the JV comes after both companies decided to develop their businesses in different directions for clearer and focused strategies.

Additionally, DMK intends to invest in infrastructure, mergers and acquisition activities, as well as research and development partnerships in the near future.

In April, DMK Group acquired brands, sales and distribution channels of Alete and German Babyfood as part of an ongoing process to restructure its product range.

The acquisition came into effect immediately with the completion of the antitrust review.
