Deals this week: Monogram Capital Partners, Lite Bite Foods, Kent Foods

Monogram Capital Partners has provided an $18m investment to US-based premium Greek yoghurt producer Ellenos.

Also based in the US, Monogram Capital Partners is a private equity firm.

The financial adviser to Ellenos for the transaction was Meridian Capital.

Ellenos intends to utilise the proceeds to introduce new products, further strengthen its brand and expand its business.

Kent Foods has signed an agreement to acquire the business and assets of ingredients provider Garrett Ingredients from Real Good Food for £1.8m ($2.55m).

Kent Foods supplies ingredients for bakers, confectioners and food manufacturers, while Real Good Food is a manufacturer and distributor of food products.

All companies involved are based in the US.

The transaction is scheduled to be completed this month.

Delfi has signed a novation and assignment agreement with Hershey Singapore to acquire the perpetual and exclusive licence to the latter’s Van Houten brand for $13m.

The licence to be acquired is for chocolate and cocoa products in Asia and Oceania, including Australia and New Zealand.

Hershey Singapore is a chocolate and sugar confectionery products producer that is also a part of The Hershey Company and Barry Callebaut.

Also based in Singapore, Delfi manufactures and distributes chocolate confectionery products.

The acquisition will enable Delfi to strengthen its business and expand its footprint in other markets.

CIY Foods has secured $1.4m in a seed funding round led by The Syndicate Fund, Matchstick Ventures, M25 Group and Router Ventures, and participated by a select group of Minnesota angel investors.

The funds raised will be used by CIY Foods for the expansion of its business in the US.

All based in the US, CIY Foods is an easy meal provider while The Syndicate Fund, Matchstick Ventures, M25 Group and Router Ventures are all venture capital firms.

Premium Brands Holdings has entered an agreement to acquire the entire assets and operating divisions of Oberto Sausage, a manufacturer and marketer of meat snacks based in the US.

Based in Canada, Premium Brands Holdings produces, markets and distributes branded food products.

The deal will enable Premium Brands to enter the North American market, while featuring Canada’s top meat snack brands.

Premium Brands Holdings has also acquired an additional 30% stake in McLean Meats. The purchase consideration for the two acquisitions together was C$237m ($188.17m).

The company has concurrently announced its intention to issue 1.28 million shares in a private placement priced at C$117.35 ($93.17) a share. It expects to raise C$150m ($119.1m) in gross proceeds through the placement.
