Deals this week: Keatz, London Biscuits Berhad, Darling Ingredients

Keatz has raised €6m ($7.06m) as part of a venture financing round led by Project A, K Fund and other investors.

Keatz is a German delivery-only food chain operator that was originally founded by Dimitrios Ploutarchos and Paul Gebhardt.

London Biscuits Berhad plans to raise MYR8.39m ($2.10m) through a private placement of 22.38 million new shares priced at MYR0.45 ($0.11) a share.

London Biscuits is a Malaysia-based manufacturer of cakes and snack foods.

The transaction represents 10% of the company’s share capital and is expected to close in September.

Darling Ingredients Inc has completed the acquisition of all the assets of Kruger Commodities for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition covers Kruger’s protein conversion facility operations in Hamilton, Michigan, and Tama, Iowa.

A protein blending and used cooking oil collection operation in Omaha, Nebraska, was also included in the acquisition.

Darling is primarily involved in the development and manufacture of sustainable natural ingredients, while Kruger is engaged in the provision of services to the meat and poultry by-product, and food service industries.

Both companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.

The asset acquisition is anticipated to support Darling’s low-carbon power initiative at its low-carbon fuel facility known as Diamond Green Diesel in Norco, Louisiana.

Premier Foods plc has raised £300m ($405.63m) via a public offering of senior secured notes.

The notes are due in 2023 and carry a coupon rate of 6.25% a year.

Premier Foods is expected to use the funds for the redemption of notes due in 2021.

The company will also use the newly raised amount to pay administrative costs, expenses and fees related to the development.

Premier Foods is a UK-based food manufacturer.

The offering will be subject to customary closing conditions and other regulatory approvals and is expected to close in June.

LDC SA and the Al Munajem Cold Stores Company have agreed to purchase the production facilities of Groupe Doux, a France-based producer and exporter of poultry and poultry-based products.

The LDC consortium includes French animal nutrition product supplier Terrena and a Ukrainian producer of poultry-based products known as MHP SA.

LDC plans to invest €60m ($70.82m) in the assets, while MHP is set to provide €76m ($89.71m).

France-based LDC is a producer, packager and marketer of poultry products, while Al Munajem is a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) wholesaler based in Saudi Arabia.

McDonald’s Corporation has raised $500m through a debt offering of bonds.

The bonds are due in October 2021 and carry a floating rate interest of 0.430%+USDLibor3M payable quarterly.

McDonald’s is a fast food company based in the US.

Petuna Pty Ltd has partnered with Tassal Group Limited to collaboratively manage and share their fish farming operations in Macquarie Harbour, Tasmania.

Petuna is a producer and distributor of seafood products, while Tassal is engaged in the marketing, processing and sale of Atlantic salmon.

Both companies involved in the partnership are based in Australia.

The joint venture (JV) is expected to enable the companies to strengthen their respective farming capabilities.
