Deals this week: The Hershey Company, Easyshop Easycook Services Limited, Lepur

The Hershey Company (Hershey) has priced its proposed $350m public offering of notes.

Due May 2020, the notes bear a coupon rate of 2.9%, will be issued at a price of 99.934% and will yield 2.934% on the principle amount.

The company has also priced a public offering of 3.1% notes due for 2021 to raise $350m, and another public offering of 3.375% notes due for 2023 to raise $500m.

Hershey has appointed Citigroup Global Markets Inc, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated and RBC Capital Markets, LLC as book-runners for the transaction, and JP Morgan Securities LLC and PNC Capital Markets LLC as senior co-managers.

CIBC World Markets Corp, Santander Investment Securities Inc., U.S. Bancorp Investments, Inc, The Williams Capital Group LP, Banco Bradesco BBI SA and Loop Capital Markets LLC have been appointed as co-managers.

Based in the US, Hershey is chocolate and sugar confectionery producer.

Easyshop Easycook Services Limited has secured seed financing from EchoVC Pan-Africa Fund.

Based in Nigeria, Easyshop Easycook is an online fresh food processor and grocer targeting working professionals. The company provides fresh food sourced from farms to both customers and partners through its multi-platform technology solution.

Easyshop Easycook is led by its founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Saudat Salami.

Chinese hand-made yoghurt brand Lepur has raised venture funding in a financing round led by US-based beverages manufacturer The Coca-Cola Company (Coca-Cola).

The funding round involved participation from investment and venture capital firms IDG Capital Partners, Zhen Fund, River Capital, Inc, and Maison Capital.

The Hershey Company plans to divest the non-US assets of its subsidiary Amplify Snack Brands Inc.

Hershey is a US-based chocolate and sugar confectionery producer, while Amplify Snack Brands, also based in the US, is a developer and marketer of healthy snack products.

DE United Foods Industries Limited has acquired May & Baker Nigeria’s food production line for NGN775m ($2.14m).

Based in Nigeria, DE United Foods is an instant noodles producer, while May & Baker is a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and healthcare company. Both companies are based in Nigeria.
