M&As this week: Tayto Group, Hansells Food Group, Olymel

Tayto Group has acquired The Real Pork Crackling Company for an undisclosed amount.

Tayto Group is a snack manufacturer, while The Real Pork Crackling Company specialises in the production of pork-based snacks.

Both companies involved in the transaction are based in the UK.

New-Zealand-based billionaire Graeme Hart has announced plans to purchase Hansells Food Group.

Hansells Food Group is one of the biggest food manufacturing firms in New Zealand.

The company owns a number of prominent food brands, including Aunty Betty’s, Weight Watchers and Vitafresh.

Olymel has announced its intention to acquire the entirety of the shares in Pinty’s Delicious Foods.

The two firms will continue to operate independently upon completion of the acquisition.

Olymel is a meat packing and food processing company, while Pinty’s is a producer and supplier of fresh and frozen chicken products.

Both companies involved in the deal are based in Canada.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Olymel’s business.

CapVest Equity Partners has divested its portfolio company Scandza.

UK-based CapVest Equity Partners is a private investment firm, while Scandza is a Norwegian producer of snacks, chilled foods and baked goods.

A consortium comprising Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Fondaction and Investissement Québec has announced plans to collaborate with the Champlain Financial Corporation to acquire Baxters Canada.

Each company is expected to invest $8m towards the acquisition.

Baxters Canada is a subsidiary of UK-based Baxters Food Group, which primarily manufactures canned soups and sauces.

Fonds is a private equity and venture capital firm, while Fondaction is an investment company and Champlain Financial Corporation is a private equity firm.

All of the entities involved in the acquisition are based in Canada.

Novacap, a private equity firm, has announced plans to acquire a stake in Noble Foods Nutrition.

Noble Foods Nutrition is a manufacturer of nutrition and energy bars.

Noble Foods is expected to use the funds from the transaction to expand its business.

Both companies involved in the deal are based in Canada.
