Cargill to acquire Polish poultry company Konspol to strengthen global protein business

Cargill has reached an agreement to acquire poultry company Konspol, marking the introduction of its global protein business into the Polish market.

Konspol is engaged in the production of a wide range of food products in the chilled convenience, frozen and cold cut categories.

With the acquisition, Cargill intends to expand its poultry footprint to 14 countries worldwide.

Under the agreement, the company will purchase the Polish assets of Konspol’s food and fresh chicken business.

Cargill will also acquire Konspol’s portfolio of products, including branded and private label offerings, and its customer and supplier relationships.

Cargill’s global poultry president Chris Langholz said: “Konspol’s commitment to high-quality food and passion for innovation is the perfect fit for Cargill’s global poultry business.

“This acquisition allows us to better serve our customers through a diversified portfolio of value-added products. Konspol is a strong and established fresh chicken and value-added food company whose products are the preferred choice across Poland.”

Konspol operates a feed mill, five broiler farms and two processing complexes. Subject to regulatory approvals, the acquisition is expected to increase Cargill’s production capacity and proximity to existing customers to offer value-added and poultry products.
