BakeMark to buy CSM’s Multifoods brand and two manufacturing facilities

US-based manufacturer of bakery ingredients BakeMark has entered an agreement with CSM Bakery Solutions to acquire Multifoods brand and two manufacturing facilities.

Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed by both the companies.

The acquisition includes the Multifoods brand as well as its product portfolio and CSM’s two manufacturing facilities located in Elyria, Ohio, and Spartanburg, South Carolina.

BakeMark president and CEO Jim Parker said: “Increased customer demand coupled with our strategy to grow our ingredients business created the need for these acquisitions.

“Adding the Multifoods brand and these manufacturing facilities will certainly help us better support our customers and industry partners and help us meet our goal of driving success for them and all our stakeholders well into the future.”

Upon completion of the deal, CSM’s Multifoods line of bakery mixes and bases will be part of BakeMark’s portfolio, which includes Westco, BakeSense, Best Brands, Vivant, and Sprinkelina.

The Elyria and Spartanburg facilities will be integrated into BakeMark’s North American manufacturing footprint, which includes manufacturing facilities in Pico Rivera, California in the US, and Richmond, British Columbia, and Calgary, Alberta in Canada.
