Azelis acquires Swedish ingredients distributor Ingredi

Global ingredients distributor Azelis has signed an agreement to acquire Swedish company Ingredi, which is primarily engaged in the distribution of raw materials and ingredients to Sweden’s food and health industries.

The agreement is to be executed with immediate effect.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed by either party.

Ingredi offers a wide range of natural functional ingredients with a particular focus on ‘clean labelling’ and organic raw materials.

Azelis Nordic managing director Gert Schnoor said: “We are excited about this acquisition as Ingredi’s product portfolio is very complementary to the current Azelis Nordic food business.

“Together we will cover the main food applications markets such as bakery, confectionery, health food, and meat and fish.”

Ingredi has specialised in ingredients distribution for more than two decades, as well as offering consulting, sales, stockholding services to the food and health industries.

Ingredi CEO Fredrik Wollin said: “Azelis and Ingredi share the same values, as well as focus on innovation, value creation and growth through partnerships with carefully selected partners.

“We are truly satisfied with the deal since it clearly opens up new opportunities.

Wollin is set to continue to serve Azeli in his existing role and will primarily focus on serving customers in Sweden.

Ingredi’s sales office is located in Sjöfartshuset in Gamla Stan, Stockholm.
