Ardent Mills announces investments in retail capabilities

US-based flour-milling and ingredient company Ardent Mills has announced plans to invest in its retail investments in an effort to increase and streamline its retail flour packaging capabilities.

These investments will enable the company to continue to safely serve retail demand.

To meet consumer demands, the company ordered three retail packers, one new line, which will be fully operational next month, and two retail packers that will upgrade the existing lines by early next year.

Once operational, the new lines should increase the company’s production capabilities.

Ardent Mills Operations vice-president Troy Anderson said: “I’m proud of our team’s dedication to their customers, consumers, and communities; and our ability to make strategic investment decisions to ensure that their needs are met.

“Ardent Mills is focused on our customers’ success while remaining extremely intentional around the safety of our people and products — these investments are no exception.”

With these investments, the company also intends to expand its presence in the North-East US to meet customer’s needs on the East Coast and nationwide.

As part of this initiative, the company added a retail packer to its existing operations in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, now fully operational and produces small pack options such as 2lb, 5lb and 10lb bags.

Additionally, the company invested in a dedicated retail team to better execute for customers. The team added warehouses for the company’s retail mills across North America.

Ardent Mills also added another retail line at its facility in Newton, Kansas, as part of its investment strategy.

In February, Ardent Mills announced its plans to enhance its speciality grain capabilities by acquiring the quinoa operations of Andean Naturals in Yuba City, California.
