Total food industry M&A deals in Q2 2020 worth $1.57bn were announced in the US, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 122.7% over the previous quarter and a drop of 24.1% when compared with the last four-quarter average of $2.06bn.

The US held a 57.6% share of the global food industry M&A deal value that totalled $2.72bn in Q2 2020.

In terms of deal activity, the US recorded 25 deals during Q2 2020, marking a drop of 19.4% over the previous quarter and a drop of 21.9% over the last four-quarter average.
