Food industry venture financing deals total $468.9m globally in July 2021

The $105m venture financing of Aleph Farms was the food industry’s top venture financing deal as total deals worth $468.9m were announced globally in July 2021, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 110.4% over the previous month of $222.84m and a rise of 34.5% when compared with the last 12-month average, which stood at $348.69m.

Comparing venture financing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $211.5m. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $208.5m.

In terms of volumes, Asia-Pacific emerged as the top region for food industry venture financing deals globally, followed by North America and then Europe.

The top country in terms of venture financing deals activity in July 2021 was the China with 12 deals, followed by the US with 11 and the UK with five.

In 2021, as of July, food venture financing deals worth $3.48bn were announced globally, marking an increase of 43.04% year on year.
