Food industry venture financing deals total $208.8m globally in June 2021

The $46.31m venture financing of Wuye Banmian was the food industry’s top venture financing deal as total deals worth $208.8m were announced globally in June 2021, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 77.4% over the previous month of $925.39m and a drop of 43.5% when compared with the last 12-month average, which stood at $369.63m.

Comparing venture financing deals value in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $84.45m. At the country level, the China topped the list in terms of deal value at $82.25m.

In terms of volumes, Asia-Pacific emerged as the top region for food industry venture financing deals globally, followed by North America and then Europe.

The top country in terms of venture financing deals activity in June 2021 was the US with ten deals, followed by the China with nine and the UK with three.

In 2021, as of June, food venture financing deals worth $2.99bn were announced globally, marking an increase of 29.7% year on year.
