Food industry venture financing deals in Q4 2020 total $515.88m globally

Total food industry venture financing deals in Q4 2020 worth $515.88m were announced globally, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 21% over the previous quarter and a drop of 34.8% when compared with the last four-quarter average, which stood at $792.07m.

Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $289.13m. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $274.34m.

In terms of volumes, Asia-Pacific emerged as the top region for food industry venture financing deals globally, followed by North America and then Europe.

The top country in terms of venture financing deals activity in Q4 2020 was the US with 27 deals, followed by China with 18 and India with five.

In 2020, as of the end of Q4 2020, food venture financing deals worth $3.47bn were announced globally, marking an increase of 168.2% year on year.

4) The $22.81m venture financing of HONlife by Qianhai Fund of Funds, Xingtuo Capital, Zero2IPO Ventures and ZhongWei Capital

5) Inward fund and ShunWei Capital’s venture financing of Suzhou Seven Fen Tian Catering Management for $22.38m.
