Food industry venture financing deals in Q3 2020 total $562.5m globally

Total food industry venture financing deals in Q3 2020 worth $562.5m were announced globally, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 23.8% over the previous quarter and a drop of 20.4% when compared with the last four-quarter average, which stood at $708.52m.

Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $306.06m. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $306.06m.

In terms of volumes, Asia-Pacific emerged as the top region for food industry venture financing deals globally, followed by North America and then Europe.

The top country in terms of venture financing deals activity in Q3 2020 was the US with 31 deals, followed by China with 18 and the UK with eight.

In 2020, as of the end of Q3 2020, food venture financing deals worth $2.85bn were announced globally, marking an increase of 164.1% year on year.

4) The $21.16m venture financing of Fazenda Futuro by BTG Pactual Participations, ENFINI Investments, Go4it and Monashees

5) Alex Payne, Aqua-Spark Management, Beyond Impact Advisors, Ilshin Holdings, Irongrey, Kelvin Chan Siang Lin, Makana Ventures, Real Tech Fund, Seeds Capital, Toyo Seikan Group Holdings, VegInvest Trust and YellowDog’s venture financing of Shiok Meats for $12.6m.
