Total food industry venture financing deals in Q3 2019 worth $270.34m were announced globally, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 16.3% over the previous quarter and a rise of 2% when compared with the last four-quarter average, which stood at $265.31m.

Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $206.23m. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $206.23m.

In terms of volumes, North America emerged as the top region for food industry venture financing deals globally, followed by Asia-Pacific and then Europe.

The top country in terms of venture financing deals activity in Q3 2019 was the US with 35 deals, followed by the UK with ten and China with seven.

In 2019, as of the end of Q3 2019, food venture financing deals worth $995.46m were announced globally, marking an increase of 289.3% year on year.
