Food industry venture financing deals in Q1 2020 total $1.32bn globally

Total food industry venture financing deals in Q1 2020 worth $1.32bn were announced globally, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 520.5% over the previous quarter and a rise of 311.3% when compared with the last four-quarter average, which stood at $320.96m.

Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $1.05bn. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $1.05bn.

In terms of volumes, North America emerged as the top region for food industry venture financing deals globally, followed by Europe and then Asia-Pacific.

The top country in terms of venture financing deals activity in Q1 2020 was the US with 28 deals, followed by the UK with ten and China with ten.

In 2020, as of the end of Q1 2020, food venture financing deals worth $1.32bn were announced globally, marking an increase of 152.5% year on year.
